Class of 2025: New York University, Master's in Teaching in Inclusive Childhood Education

New York, NY

Bio

The Big News:

  • Upon graduation, I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to attend New York University to pursue my Master’s in Teaching in Inclusive Childhood Education. The dual degree will enable me to teach elementary education, Grades 1-6, and special education, Pre-K-Grade 12 (all grades). This program stands out for its Teacher Residency, which allows master’s students to earn their degree while gaining hands-on experience by working directly in schools.

How We Helped:

  • The support I received from the Career Center was instrumental in achieving my goals. I built a strong relationship with Shan Woodard, who supported me with everything from refining my resume and navigating recommendation requests to choosing my minors and clarifying my career direction.

Your Tips for Others:

  • For any students who are on the job/internship/graduate school hunt, I highly recommend making an appointment at the career center to meet the staff and see how many ways they can help. I found that the more familiar Shan and I became with each other, the less formidable my job/graduate school search became. I could always count on her to review my resume and cover letters before I submitted them, which really helped ease my anxiety

What You’re Most Excited About:

  • In this next chapter, I look forward to becoming a New York City teacher! I am very excited to meet my students and to foster their academic and emotional growth.

Your Feelings in a Few Words:

  • I am feeling very ready to take the next step in my career. I have grown and learned so much throughout my past four years at Wake Forest, and I cannot wait to continue my educational journey.
