What is a Mock Interview?

A mock interview offers you the opportunity to experience a simulated job interview, so that you can learn what to expect during an actual interview and improve your self-presentation. The mock interview coaches will attempt to make the interview as realistic as possible while ensuring that you also have the time and opportunity to learn along the way. Our coaches will use your real job description or a job description that interests you to help you answer the questions you will see in a real interview.

Mock interviews typically last for one hour. The mock interview coach will spend much of that time conducting the interview and will use the remaining time to provide constructive feedback. At any point during the interview, you are able to stop and request feedback on a specific question or interview topic. Our mock interview coaches want to prepare you for your interview by giving the most effective and helpful feedback possible. Steps to Secure a Mock Interview

Please complete the following steps in order to secure a targeted mock interview with a career counselor:

Fill out the form below.
Attach a copy of your resume and copy of the job description (if you are not prepping for an interview with a specific company, print off any job description that interests you).
Bring form and attachments with you to the Office of Personal and Career Development (Reynolda 230) to schedule a mock interview appointment.
Wear appropriate interview attire to the mock interview, compatible with the company/organization environment with which you are interviewing.

*If you would like for a counselor to talk with you about interviewing in general, you can set-up a regular appointment to discuss interviewing (without filling out this form) before actually having a targeted mock interview for a specific job/company.
