Given the field’s diversity, there are many avenues for preparation! A strong academic foundation is essential. Consider majors such as Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Urban Planning, Public Policy, or even Business with a concentration in sustainability. Many universities now offer dedicated Sustainability programs as well.

Beyond academic pursuits, gaining practical experience is critical. Seek out internships with environmental organizations, government bodies, or companies known for their sustainability initiatives. Volunteer for local conservation efforts or participate in campus sustainability projects. Joining student clubs focused on environmental issues is an excellent way to connect with peers and gain hands-on experience.
