Please provide a few sentences to say what you do in your job.
I work on the business operations side of The Atlantic which handles digital, print, and event activations for advertising partners. The sales planning team, which I oversee, works directly with our ad sales team, our marketing teams, and our ad operations team to price, plan, and execute on brand partner’s advertising campaigns. My team is responsible for client communication, billing, and protecting our profit margins.
What advice would you give students who have an interest in marketing/advertising?
Stay informed about the market and pay attention to what you’re seeing online as a consumer.
What WFU career resources did you utilize that were most helpful to you?
Any courses which involved writing helped when sending cover letters or initial email outreach.
What specific advice would you give regarding effective networking?
Don’t be afraid to ask for favors or reach out to loose acquaintances!
