Ryan Creeser is a 2020 economics major/entrepreneurship minor graduate working as an Associate Consultant with GEP Worldwide. In this role, he analyzes data in order to optimize clients’ supply chains through strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives. The work GEP does gives clients greater visibility into their own spend, allowing them to negotiate with suppliers more effectively and completely transform their supply chain operations.

 

What advice would you give students who have an interest in consulting?

Develop your data analysis abilities and soft skills.

 

What WFU career resources did you utilize that were most helpful to you?

The OPCD.

 

What courses, activities or experiences gave you an edge in the job search process?

Utilizing the resources available at the OPCD as well as taking courses that allowed me to practice analyzing data.

 

What specific advice would you give regarding effective networking?

Always follow up after meeting someone via email or Linkedin. This makes recruiters more likely to remember you and demonstrates greater interest.

 

What specific advice would you give to students regarding effective interviewing?

Know how your previous work experience has prepared you for the role you are interviewing for as well as the value-add hiring you would bring to the company. These answers should be prepared ahead of time for any interview.
